So...today I did something I do not remember ever doing before, I paid $75 for a new pair of shoes. I think they are actually running shoes, but we all know that will never happen with me in them. I splurged, and I actually have high hopes that they help me conquer the hill at Veteran's Park in the morning. I've been walking around the track the wrong direction to avoid the hill until the end of my lap. Now, with my new "running" shoes, I will at least look cool before I almost pass out from the heat.
While on the subject of my morning walk, I will just say there is a lot of action at the park each day. For instance, this dude pulls in everyday to chat on his cell phone. At least that is what I like to think since he never actually gets out and walks. My imagination gets carried away trying to decide what "Big Chrome" is actually up to. (I named him after the rims on his truck.)
There are runners, walkers, tennis lessons going on, workers repairing flood damage to the track, and people with their windows down napping in their vans. I'm out amidst all of this telling their stories to myself as I struggle with my laps...in the heat...with my old Skool jams!
Anyways...I can't wait to see how my new shoes work out.
CABIN SWEET CABIN
We've had a little project going at the lake. An opportunity to fulfill a dream of ours came up. So...we bought a little cabin to remodel.
We have officially sold our camper and have been working diligently to finish before the end of summer. Of course with any type of work like this, there are obstacles to overcome. I am very proud of David's handiwork on the deck:) Here are a few happy pics!
Come sit on my big deck, friends:)
