Backyard Reflections: October 2011

THE DUCKS...AND A GOOSE...

So, we just returned from our favorite vacation spot, no matter the season...the Smoky Mountains. Behind the Christmas Place (my favorite store) there are ducks and geese you can feed. We went prepared this year. It was crazy the way they flew in! This was one of the highlights for Chloe Jo.   So, we went to buy more food and went back again to feed them:) There was only one goose and the second time lots of PIGEONS!

MY BABY BROTHER...

Don't get so excited, friends. IT really is not what you could be thinking. ha On our trip we went to Cracker Barrel to eat breakfast one morning. Chloe Jo starts telling our waitress about her baby brother.   We just laughed it off and said she doesn't have a baby brother.

But, she talked about him many more times while we were gone. I asked her his name...and she says to me in her most irritated voice/tone..."His name is Baby Brother!" She said he was two and he was at home. The big thing was "Baby Brother" was not afraid of Santa...like her.

This could be just a thing...or a new imaginary friend.   Sad to say...it will not be reality. There will be no real baby brother. ha

HORSE PILL...

One night when Chloe Jo was playing with her new rock collection on the coffee table in our condo she found "candy" under the couch. She brings it over in her hand to David and says it tasted nasty. I thought he was going to blow a gasket...she had found a huge horse pill and put it in her mouth.

So, lesson learned...don't assume that just because it is a really nice place to stay that they clean every nook and cranny. Look under the couch and in the couch cushions for mystery pills that someone might have dropped.

She did not have any reaction, luckily.

SHARK DREAMS...

The Aquarium was a lot of fun but that night Chloe Jo had crazy nightmares about the sharks. It is the thing of... you love it even though it scares you to death kind of thing.

A sweet moment...Chloe Jo says,"Awww, Look Mama...they are loving each other!" I have never seen affectionate seahorses...well, I don't guess I really see many seahorses...but it was a very sweet moment...

The penguin tunnel was a big hit. There was a penguin with the name David...he had a mate. We said she must have been Misty because he liked her very much:) haha He spent the whole time we were there biting her...maybe cleaning her??? She was okay with it whatever it was he was doing. heehee
