Spring break ...

I absolutely love spring break. One of the things I love about it is it gives me some free time. I have really put my swing to use this week. You all know that my backyard speaks to me. Maybe just a twisted connection with nature. But if the truth be told...i feel the closeness of God in the still and quiet of my backyard.

We went camping over the weekend. Piney campground is my favorite place to camp. I absolutely love to see sooooo many kids out riding bikes and playing with friends. Chloe Jo had a blast. We searched for "treasures" which is nothing more than rocks and shells but these treasures keep her occupied for hours.

We went to a few creeks in search of new treasures this time. We took a trip to the bison and elk prairie...the nature station...and the best thing for Chloe Jo was getting to ride her tricycle on the road really fast like the big kids.

My biker man...

So, i was sitting outside one evening and Chloe Jo came out of the camper telling me she pooped in the potty. Many of you will recall that this is major for me, the whole potty training thing is over. Chloe Jo has been accident free for a whole month. Anyways, toddlers still want to tell you about their business. Ha.

My reaction to her successful potty story was yelling, screaming, and clapping...with a few big whew's at the end. It was after my last WHEW that I look over and goin by on the road was a 40 something in his underarmour muscle shirt with Oakley shades on his bike looking over at me.

It dawns on. Dude thinks I am whewing at him...so I break out in crazy laughter...chloe Jo was not in plain sight because she was digging behind the picnic table. David was coming out of the camper and I start pointing out the guy and telling him what just happened.

I am not kidding when I tell this...not even 10 minutes later...there he is again coming back by. I say to David..."here comes boyfriend on his bike...whew whew"...David is bagging up garbage and doesn't even really give him a second glance...so...here he comes and im trying to not be so obvious...but 40 something knows i'm watching and pulls out a little old school and does a pop wheelie when he goes by!

David missed the whole thing again.

Those moments are what makes me...me. It really is the simple things, friends. I laughed until tears...I have no idea who bike dude is...but we are alike in the fact that at times i like to challenge myself at things to make sure i still got "it" too..WHEW...oh yeah...

Lots to share...but this girl has to get some rest. I finally got my hands in some dirt today and I am worn out. My backyard is blooming with stories already this spring, friends...come sit on my porch:)
