Smells and sounds...

As a little girl whatever my daddy was doing, you could pretty much find me somewhere near. I was present during his "projects" around the house. He was one person to everyone else in his profession but truly has mad skills to build things. Enough to build a shed one summer in our backyard. My job for summers to come would be to paint Thompson's Water Sealer on that shed to keep it weatherized with a PAINTBRUSH! (not my favorite memory!!!) I remember going with him to cut a tree for the wood to burn in our wood stove when I was really young. I remember him building a carport for his black Ford truck. I remember him working endless hours in our yard planting and pruning. I remember how hot and sweaty he would get. But what stands out in my memory the most is when I had totally pushed my limits with my behavior while he was hot and sweaty working on a "project"! Funny how as I sit here watching David finish up his "deck" project, that the sound of the saw and the smell of new wood takes me back to my younger years. Chloe Jo is right under her way too hot and sweaty daddy's feet pushing the limits...as I sit here telling you all about it. What she doesn't know is her job for summers to come might be painting this big ole deck with Thompson's Water Sealer with her very own PAINT BRUSH if she doesn't see the error of her ways soon. Haha. I am so thankful for sweet memories. Come sit on our deck, friends.
